To place a VCO call:
- Check the VCO button. This will notify the video interpreter upfront that you have selected to place a VCO call instead of waiting to tell the video interpreter after he or she comes on the line.
- Enter the phone number you would like to call. The phone number you enter into the "Number to dial" box will be sent to the video interpreter for processing.
- If available, enter the extension number. The "Extension" field is available if you would like to enter the extension you wish to contact or the access code, which is needed to process your call. This field is optional.
- Enter your phone number. Your phone number is requested to allow the video interpreter to call you. The purpose of this is to provide you with a toll free call. The video interpreter will call you to establish voice connections so you may be able to speak to the person you are calling.
- When the fields have been entered and the options have been selected, click on the "Dial Now" button. This will initiate the call and contact a video interpreter to process your call. When a video interpreter has appeared on the video screen, you will be notified that they will be processing this call as a "VCO" call.
It is best to have your telephone next to your computer so you can easily speak your end of the conversation and view the interpreter at the same time. The video interpreter will notify you when the call has been answered so you can begin speaking for yourself.
When the call is completed, you can hang up your phone and then click on the "Hang Up" or "Close" button to terminate your call to the video interpreter.
